We're all getting tired of winter here too, Dennis. I'm on the verge of trying catnip myself. The Gang of Four say it really works. Being a two-legged, I'm more partial to chocolate, however.
Whenever I get sad, I like to drag out a couple dozen of my toys, sprinkle catnip all around, and act real crazy. It always works! Maybe you should try that, Dennis!
Jacob is sorry to hear his friend Dennis has the blues. Perhaps a heat lamp and some premium catnip would do the trick, although Jacob prefers a good belly rub.
I know Bob and Elmo had a case of the great boo-bahs with me last winter thanks in large part to the very drafty apartment where I resided. It was so drafty--on the windy days, the curtains would move, that's how drafty it was--that I had to cover all the windows with plastic tarp, then blankets, then drapes. I basically lived in a tunnel from January until the end of March.
I didn't realize what a profound effect living without any sunlight exposure was having on me and the cats. I was coming home from work every night, feeding them then crawling under the covers and sleeping until it was it was time to go to bed. Then I'd brush my teeth and go back to bed. And the cats slept with me the whole time.
Alas, that's when Bob began gaining weight. He's still fat.
I don't know if full spectrum lamps work for cats, and I don't know if cats really suffer from SAD but I can vouch for their efficacy in human beings. I started using one at work a few months ago because I was getting the most awful migraines that were caused by the florescent lights. The full spectrum light is clean, bright wonderful light. No headaches. I use it for 8 hours a day a work and it's improved my mood vastly. It's like someone turned on a happy switch in my brain.
So, Dennis, dear sad Dennis, I hope you find some sunlight or a full spectrum lamp and cheer up soon.
Dennis Teitelbaum was born on March 31, 2000 in Kiryas Joel, NY.
Dennis was born a Satmar Hasidic cat, but lost the faith when the Grand Rebbe Moshe died in 2006, and the succession feud began.
Dennis adopted a son, Edward, on June 29, 2008. Dennis became disenchanted with Edward in 2009.
Dennis adopted a son, Henry, on August 7, 2010. Dennis became disenchanted with Henry a few months later.
Dennis began having health problems and increasingly bad attitudinal attacks. Dennis spent much his last years passed out in a cupboard. Dennis left this world in September 2011 to join the Grand Rebbe in another world.

Hmmm Got any catnip?
Hugs to you Dennis.
Maybe there's catnip in the cupboards?
Oh dear Dennis I certainly hope you will get over being SAD. Maybe your humans can provide you with your own heater.
How can you be sads when you have those bootiful eyes? I'll come over and we can spend some quality cupboard time together.

Megan loves Dennis too.
I can relate, been looking for that perfect cupboard myself...
We find ourselves feeling clever and cunning when in cupboards, and think you should consider yourself the same!

Maybe Dennis needs a puppy to "chase" those blues away him out of the cupboard.

Feel better, Dennis!
