Although Dennis has been loving and caring with his new kitten, he still has serious problems.
1. Dennis thinks he owns Eddy.
2. Dennis gets enraged easily, over very small things.
3. Dennis feels he is always in the right, no matter what.
4. Dennis is afraid to be an Adult.
Actually the list goes up to 576. but Dennis doesn't have time to write it all down.
Eddy decides to try and help Dennis by fixing him through a form of Transactional Analysis. Eddy is reading a book he got at a thrift shop for ten cents. It is a very old book, but it could help. The book is called "Im OK, You're OK"
Eddy explains: Dennis, like all cats, has Parent, Child, and Adult data guiding his thoughts, decisions and transactions with others. Dennis has a really messed up contaminated Parent inside him that is, at times, an insane control freak. Dennis is prejudiced against Chedwick, and often lashes out at him for no reason. Dennis has never tapped into his pure Adult data (the calm voice of reason.) Dennis rather enjoys his delusions, which sort of messes up any chance of achieving OK-ness.Eddy is concerned. Eddy doesn't want to be parented by a lazy, delusional parent!
Dennis would like to be a healthy adult cat, but the book is just too confusing. All those circles, it's all too circular.

dennis is certainly entertaining
That's life: one big venn diagram.
cuti cute cat!
"all too circular" - vicious, actually.
Hang in there, Dennis. After all you are just 37 faults short of the 613 mitzvot. Think on these things.
A message to Eddy: all parents are delusional, Eddy. If they weren't, they wouldn't have kids in the first place.
Buck up, little guy,
(And Chedwick? good luck.)
we all have our little "issues", um I have an evil alter ego...
i say let Dennis be Dennis!
Dear Dennis,
Reason's voice is seldom calm.
-A well wisher
Dennis, can you just stay in the Child stage for your entire life? That's what I was going to do. And try not to let those other Bad circles contaminate you. It seems sort of like cooties. Would you like me to make you a Cootie Catcher?
I would suggest Dennis to chant "om" for an hour a day.
I'm curious about the rest of Dennis' faults now. When will the list be published?
A new sibling always changes the family dynamics - patience and a spray-bottle of water is my advice!!!!
Cheers
I do not see any problems in that list. Dennis is what he is. It's up to others to deal with it. Why should Dennis change?
If I were Dennis, I'd consider the very young, obviously immature source who uses a 10 cent book and circles to analyze Dennis.
Dennis is fine the way he is.
Oh my dear Dennis. I do adore you with faults and all. Don't we all have them, after all? However, try to be nice to Eddy. He's so sweet and loves you so. He'd have to to try and get through that book. At least you all still have your sense of humor.
By Dennis. Love ya, cute kitty!
Perhaps it'd be easier to understand if all the circles were shaped like mice.
Pssssst Eddy, You are just too smart!!!! That will not help Dennis like you more ;) heehee
Pretty soon you will be acting like the 'parent' to Dennis :o
Maybe something else, like Dr Phil. That's fairly easy reading. hahahahahahahaha!!!!!

I agree with LKD the circles should be mouse shaped.
It's OK Dennis. I always think I'm right too.
I HAVE THAT BOOK TOO!!!
Well, my second mom let me borrow it and I haven't given it back yet.
She gave it to me when I had a conversation with her about B and I.
She thought I'd benefit from it.

Dennis, we think that getting to a state of OK-ness is a lofty goal, especially with all those confusing circles. We applaud your efforts!
eddie is a little thing - but don't get enraged with him, dennis.
You are OK Dennis cos you said you love me. Its never easy bringing up littlins.
For cats, everything makes instant sense and is thoroughly comprehensible if everything is presented in the shape of a mouse.
(smile)
Did I tell you (Dennis, Ched, Eddy) that both Elmo AND Bob had a baby mouse in their mouths the other night. Actually, it was the night of the day my mother's cat died. I took them out front for some fresh air late at night--it's always so nice and quiet, just me, the cats and the stars and the moon--and Elmo walked over to what looked like a rock in the mulch, sniffed it, and the rock.....MOVED.
Elmo's quite the hunter/killer and pounced on it and had it in his mouth before I knew what IT was. All I could see were teeny tiny pink feet dangling from his mouth. So, I took a hold of Elmo and shook him hard. This usually doesn't work because he clamps down hard when he has rodents in his mouth, but this time it worked, and the baby mouse dropped out, hit the ground running, dashed across the walk into more mulch where Bob, who has never hunted anything bigger than a moth, woke up from his daydream, knew instantly, instinctively what to do, pounced on the mouse and it was in his mouth with those teeny tiny feet dangling out.
Sigh.
So, I took hold of Bob and shook him, and it worked again, much to my relief. The mouse dropped out. Elmo had dashed over to Bob to recover his mouse (everything belongs to Elmo--at least, that's how he sees it) and when the mouse dropped out of Bob's mouth, it was for a precious handful of seconds, invisible to both cats. The mouse dashed between my shoes and paused while the cats went berserk sniffing each other and the ground trying to locate the mouse. Then, while the cats were still distracted and excited by the prospect of possibly having the mouse back in their mouths, the little baby, unscathed by two sets of cat fangs, dashed into a teeny tiny hole in the mulch and disappeared.
I was, to say the least, relieved.
It was just a little bit too much excitement for me at midnight in the dark with two cats on two leashes, if you know what I mean. I had to drag them back inside. They wanted to say outside all night searching every inch of ground to find that mouse.
I wonder if mice have nine lives just like cats. That little guy cheated death twice in the course of about 2 minutes. I hope he lives a nice long mouse life unscathed by any further feline encounters.
TransCATional Analysis, did you say?
dennis don't worry, I'm sure it's just the recent demands of raising a kitten that is currently stressing you out.... nothing a little bit of tuna and a nice long nap won't cure....
and eddy don't worry about being parented 'by a lazy, delusional parent' - you're resilient and you are a tuxedo after all, nothing you can't handle. anyway, why should you be any better off than 90% of us....
I love venn diagrams....and I knew there was some connect btw me and tut....I've often said life is nothing but one big venn diagram!! but maybe everyone feels this way??
These cats are quite the little scamps, aren't they?
Oh Dennis.Pasrenting is one of the hardest things you'll have to do.As adults, we have to give little ones two things,"roots and wings"(In your case, preferably still attached to the bird).Australian Dennis says hello.

Dennis!
I have finally shown the world my three cats that spent many years with me--only Muffin is left and I got a new kitten this summer, but maybe you want to check them out. I am very interested in what you may think of Donkey--he was beautiful, but he ran away and we hope he got a good home.
Have you ever heard of "Confuse a Cat?"
Dennis,I have given you an award :)
Hope you like it ;)

"Dennis rather enjoys his delusions..."
You have such a way with words.
Love the 10-cent I'm OK, You're OK book and the glimpse at where the solutions lie, with the complicated diagrams and rationality. I too felt immediately that I'll never be OK.
Good Luck With the T.A. ! Is it Gestalt were everyone throws cusions at one another?Maybe Thats more Dennis's Bag?
Maybe Dennis should meditate?!
Dennis prefers deep denial.
Dennis always the darliest one!
Maybe Dennis should twy his paw in Fweudian Anawysis instead? Perhaps it will turn out wess circuwar?
Hmm, we don't try to read books. They are fun to whap off the table though.
Oh Dennis, just calm dow a bit...think calm blue ocean...and all will be well.
I think Orion has some issues, but I am not ever going to begin to try to tap into them.

Hot damn, I'm comment #40! Dennis' blog is racking up quite the fans!
Dennis is not alone with a list like his.
Is it really the blog of Dennis, Cergie wonders ?
How may it be possible Dennis wrote such horrible thought about him ?
I cannot explain that Eddy is the teacher of Dennis. Dennis IS an adult. If not, we are walking on our head.
(I KNOW how Dennis can be kind, serious, clever. I cannot recognize him on that post. )
The whole I'm OK trend fell apart because some smartasses memorized the book, took nothing to heart themselves, but used it to attack/ critique others in an annoying way. This lead to the I'm Ok, You're Not Ok trend.
