Dennis Begins Writing Memoirs

Dennis has decided to write his memoirs since he has had many interesting lives. His unusually close relationship with Salvadore Dali will be revealed in detail. Dennis says he may devote several chapters of the book to his interactions with famous people.

I'm dying to know what the title will be.

I'm even more curious to know what other famous people Dennis has rubbed up against--figuratively, and literally.

Charlie Chaplin, perhaps?

Greta Garbo, certainly.

Louise Brooks, maybe.

Groucho Marx, definitely.

Dennis, I look forward to reading your take on the famous personalities you have met. And, if I may say so, I'm glad you didn't adopt Dali's style of moustaches for your own whiskers.

Jacob says, Good luck, and you are much better looking than Salvador Dali!

Oh no, Dennis, you're melting! And your tail is turning into a tree!

So. At last, we will know. Did Salvadore really mean to paint melted Cheshire cats instead of melting watches? Was he truly addicted to Welsh rabbit? Did he really use it as waxing material for his mustache?

Just on the strength of that one photo and your four-line synopsis, I'd say you've got a query letter, Dennis.

(Much, much looking forward to your tell-all chapter on the Grand Rebbe.

(Forming a book club up here, just for your memoirs.)

Best,

Rollmops and The Disappearing Herring Stripes

Dennis doesn't appear to be certain if he cares for the company he's keeping.

Dennis admits that Dali was a little too touchy feely sometimes.

I'll get my library to order a copy. I don't want to spend my own money on it.

I hope Dennis talks about the wife, a paine royale and she hissed at Dennis! Like he was a....cat or something.

Dennis is in Dali's Last Supper painting. Look under the table.

Dennis will also be discussing Dali and perfume. Such a sensitive, literate soul.
