Hands Free Hugging

Dennis likes hands-free hugging (Demonstrating it here with Eddy) because then Dennis can send text messages and drink coffee while hugging. Dennis wished he'd invented hands-free hugging but it was invented by Harpo Marx.

Harpo is concentrating on harping and hugging simultaneously - Dennis had the photo cropped to protect the identity of the shy person being leg hugged and to avoid more legal issues.

Thanks for the demo, Dennis. I'm going to explain it to Sweeney. She's looking for a way to spend quality time with her BFF Pearl that doesn't involve Pearl totally sprawling on top. That's too hot in the summer.

Dennis: I bet if you really put your mind to it, you could even work a snooze into the mix. Multitasking - that's what evolution's all about, for sure.

(Same with Harpo, there: why doesn't he attach open-and-close shutters with text messaging onto his eyebrows? Such a waste.)

We had no idea, Dennis! We;ll have to try this out!

Oh Dennis, you crack me up! I guess instead of a "bear hug" you have invented the "barely there hug"!

Well, Eddy doesn't seem to mind one bit.

My god.

Who is being hugged?

And by....what?

I'm kind of glad the photograph is cropped.

There are some things about Harpo I'd rather not know.

Meanwhile, Elmo came this close to being named Harpo. For the first few months after I rescued him, he had no voice. He'd open up his mouth like a baby bird and no sound would come out. When he did finally find his voice, it was high and silly like that infamous red muppet's voice, thus the name Elmo was bestowed upon him. Too bad my Elmo isn't as happy and go lucky as muppet Elmo.

He still silent meows at me if I whisper his name. How cool is that?

Before I go, I must say you boys are awfully damned handsome.

Hands-free hugging shows off your black and white contrasts to the max. So fashionable.

If Cat King Cole learned the hands-free hug and stuck to texting and coffee sipping, maybe he would stay out of trouble. He was stalking a gopher this weekend, when a gophersnake got into the fray and started a hissing contest. Cole has been jumpy ever since. Maybe he needs a hug. Maybe we need another cat to apply the fashionable hands-free hug. http://dipperanch.blogspot.com

leg hugging - around here that leads to bunny kicking

Uh oh. We better not let Evelyn find out that Dennis is texting. She won't let him alone. ROTFL.

Well Eddy obviously felt he was being hugged, even if it wasn't really a pwoper hug.

Smart boy Dennis !!!!!
It's not important who invented it as long as you take advantage of it ;)
We just dictate to Mom and she sends our messages :)
We send the private ones ourselves ;)

A few weekends ago Emily and I fell asleep on Cris' couch/bed-thing. I woke up with her shin next to my head and my arm wrapped around her lower leg as if her leg was a friend I'd walk arm in arm with. I wasn't expecting it so I pulled back right away as a reflex but it did feel like friendship!

Dennis a hug from you is special - paws or no paws.

I'll be! I've enjoyed hands-free-hugging before, just didn't know it had a name.
And a picture of Harpo, cropped or not, is a delight under any circumstances, but your treatment of this one just shows you got class, ol' boy. Yeah, class.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
